Dress for Success to honor The Legacy Network with Corporate Leadership Award
“The Legacy Network as been wonderful and so supportive of Dress for Success DC- and has really allowed us to make some incredible things happen at our affiliate. For that, your support and also being a women owned business, we would like to honor The Legacy Network at our Anniversary event in October with the Corporate Leadership Award.” — Megan Goffney, Dress for Success DC Executive Director
The Dress for Success Washington, D.C. Affiliate (DFS DC) is celebrating nine years of outstanding work in the Washington DC metropolitan community. Last year, DFS provided suits to over 1,900 women, employment counseling to over 170 women, and mentoring services to more than 100 women in the DC Metropolitan area. We could not do all of this work without the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners. Since opening its doors in 2002, DFS DC has suited over 10,000 women and provided job search, mentoring, and a wide range of other supportive services so that our clients avoid the obstacles that typically derail women battling chronic unemployment.
To celebrate its ongoing success DFS is hosting its 9th Anniversary Cocktail Reception on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Altria Rotunda located at 101 Constitution Ave, N.W., Washington DC. Download the Save the Date
The 9th Anniversary Celebration will be an important reflection of the positive impact DFS DC has had on our city. This year we will be honoring The Legacy Network with the Corporate Leadership Award; PNC Bank with the Corporate Community Award; Shawn Yancy of Fox 5 News with the Community Leadership Award, and Sheryl Nadase Proctor with the Volunteer Award. All of the honorees have demonstrated their commitment to helping women in our community.
